We are approaching the second half of 2018, which means we are starting to gather a clear picture of what the government is investing in this year.
This year saw the first ever Spring Statement from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond. It gave the UK an update on the overall health of the economy and the progress made since the Autumn Budget 2017.
The Spring Statement 2018, which was made on 13 March, has been described as positive, due to the Chancellor announcing that “there is a light at the end of the tunnel” – with debt and borrowing reducing and economic growth forecasts being revised upwards.
Since the Statement there have been a number of announcements surrounding public sector investment – from cyber security to education and training, there are potential government tender opportunities for businesses of all shapes and sizes!
